Title: A Solemn Duty: Vice President Owhadi Meets Families of Martyrs, Vows to Uphold Their Legacy
In a series of solemn meetings, Iran’s Vice President and Head of the Martyrs and Veterans Affairs Foundation, Saeed Owhadi, met with the families of martyrs, emphasizing the national duty to preserve and promote their enduring legacy of sacrifice.
Honoring the Fallen
The meetings, which included the families of martyrs Mohsen Shah-Nazari and Kioumars Kowsari Moghaddam, served to honor the memory of those who gave their lives. Vice President Owhadi described the pain of losing a child as a heavy burden for parents, but highlighted that a child’s righteous path remains their ultimate wish. He recalled the words of Martyr Haj Qasem Soleimani, stating, “One must live as a martyr to die as one,” expressing hope that the nation continues to benefit from the blessings of its revered martyrs.
A Mother’s Testament
During the gathering, the mother of Martyr Mohsen Shah-Nazari shared poignant recollections of her son’s moral virtues and his profound devotion to the Ahl al-Bayt. She reflected on his ultimate sacrifice, which he made while following the path of Imam Hussein (AS), the Master of Martyrs.
The Central Mission: Narrating a Legacy
Vice President Owhadi underscored that the primary request from the esteemed martyr’s families is the defense of the martyrs’ ideals and the promotion of a culture of sacrifice and martyrdom. He stated that narrating the lives, goals, and perspectives of these martyrs is the most crucial mission of his Foundation.
“Storytelling the lives of the martyrs provides the foundation for spreading the culture of sacrifice and martyrdom,” Owhadi emphasized. “We hope to properly fulfill the heavy responsibility that the national broadcasting agency, the Martyrs Foundation, and other cultural institutions have in narrating the events against the great crimes of the enemies.”
A Unified Resolve
The Vice President noted that in over 1,064 meetings held with families of the martyrs from a past 12-day conflict, a consistent theme emerged: a unified desire to see the martyrs’ aspirations defended and their culture of selflessness promoted throughout society.
He concluded with a firm resolve, stating, “We must believe that our enemies were among the most malicious people on earth. We hope to be worthy custodians for continuing the martyrs’ ideals and, through storytelling, expand the culture of sacrifice and martyrdom in our society.”
The meetings were also attended by Dr. Yaghoub Soleimani, the Cultural and Educational Deputy of the Foundation, and other senior officials from the Tehran branch and the documentation department.
