A New Horizon for Retirees: Government Intensifies Efforts to Enhance Pensions and Benefits
In a significant move to address the welfare of the nation’s retirees, high-level meetings have been held across two key provinces, signaling a coordinated government effort to revitalize pension services and benefits.
Collaborative Meeting in Gilan
A pivotal joint meeting was convened at the “House of Hope” for national retirees in Rasht. The session brought together Sajad Mohammadian, the Director of the Gilan Province National Retirement Fund, officials from the Dana Insurance Company, and the heads of retirees’ associations from the provincial education sector.
Director Mohammadian emphasized the critical need to resolve the concerns of retirees. He specifically addressed the most pressing issues related to supplementary insurance, particularly in the areas of document processing and medical expenses. Mohammadian called upon the Dana Insurance Company to take swift action to resolve these matters in the shortest possible time.
He also presented a report on the recent activities of the Gilan Retirement Fund in welfare, medical, and service domains, underscoring a continued commitment to enhancing the quality of services provided to retirees.
In response, the head of Dana Insurance’s Rasht branch acknowledged the importance of the raised issues. He reaffirmed the company’s dedication to following up and resolving the problems, expressing readiness for closer cooperation with the provincial retirement fund. The heads of the retirees’ associations also presented their views and concerns, calling for greater synergy between the fund, the insurance company, and the associations to effectively tackle challenges.
Key Resolutions in Isfahan
In a parallel development, Ayoub Darvishi, the Political and Social Deputy of the Isfahan Governor, detailed the outcomes of a recent provincial labor commission meeting. This high-level session included the Managing Director of the National Retirement Fund, representatives from labor associations, national retirees, the Mobarakeh Steel Company, and other relevant bodies.
The primary objective was to scrutinize and resolve the issues facing national retirees and those from Mobarakeh Steel. Deputy Darvishi highlighted the merger of the Mobarakeh Steel Company’s pension fund with the National Retirement Fund, stressing the necessity for a precise assessment of pensioners’ claims and financial status, especially in Isfahan with its high population of industrial retirees.
Darvishi stated that key topics, including the harmonization of pensions for national retirees and the financial claims of Mobarakeh Steel retirees, were thoroughly examined. It was decided that necessary assessments for pension harmonization would be conducted, considering the new structure of the retirement fund. Crucially, the opinions of official retirees’ associations will be incorporated into the final decision-making process—an approach designed to guarantee the protection of retirees’ rights and address their legitimate concerns.
Deputy Darvishi further emphasized that the National Retirement Fund is mandated to vigorously pursue matters related to insurance, healthcare, and the welfare of retirees to improve their living conditions and services. He also referenced past initiatives, such as the establishment of the “House of Hope” for national retirees, confirming that the process of completing this center will continue with determination to ensure retirees can benefit from its amenities.
To monitor the implementation of these resolutions, a follow-up meeting is scheduled to be held within the next 40 to 60 days, demonstrating the ongoing commitment of provincial authorities to the continuous follow-up of retirees’ demands and the improvement of their living standards.
