Al-Nujaba Movement Delivers Stern Warning to Trump: Regional Energy Assets in Missile Sights
The Al-Nujaba Movement, a prominent faction within Iraq’s Islamic Resistance, has issued a stark warning to former U.S. President Donald Trump, declaring that all regional energy facilities are within the operational range of their missiles. This statement comes amidst heightened tensions and an exchange of threats concerning strategic energy infrastructure in the Middle East.
Al-Nujaba’s Direct Challenge
Abdul Qadir al-Karbalai, the military deputy for the Al-Nujaba Movement, directly addressed Trump, stating, “Trump should know that all energy facilities in the region are within range of the missiles and drones of the Mujahideen, sons of Haidar, and it’s an eye for an eye.” Al-Karbalai underscored the group’s operational readiness, emphasizing that resistance forces are “doers, not talkers,” indicating a readiness to act on their warnings.
Escalating Rhetoric Over Energy Security
The warning from Al-Nujaba follows previous declarations by Donald Trump, who had reportedly threatened to target various Iranian energy facilities if Iran did not fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz within a 48-hour timeframe. In response, Iran promptly issued a firm counter-threat, asserting that if such an action were to be carried out, it would retaliate by targeting all U.S.-related infrastructure in the region. This exchange highlights the volatile nature of energy security and geopolitical rivalries in the critical Middle Eastern theatre.
Recent Operations Underscore Resolve
Further illustrating the asserted operational capabilities, the Iraqi Islamic Resistance announced it had conducted 21 operations over the preceding 24 hours. These operations, reportedly involving dozens of drones and missiles, were directed against “occupier bases” across Iraq and the wider region, signaling an active and robust posture by the resistance forces. The Al-Nujaba Movement’s declaration adds a significant layer to the complex security landscape, emphasizing the potential for widespread implications should tensions continue to escalate.
