Iran Declares US-Israeli ‘Invincibility Spell’ Broken, Citing Leadership’s Vision
ARDABIL – Ayatollah Sayyed Hassan Ameli, the esteemed Friday Imam of Ardebil, has asserted that the “invincibility spell” often associated with the American and Israeli militaries has been decisively broken. Speaking at Friday prayers, Ayatollah Ameli attributed this significant shift to the strategic foresight and astute leadership of Iran’s Supreme Leader, whose early emphasis on transforming the nation’s defense industries has yielded profound results.
Challenging the ‘Invincibility’ Myth
During his sermon on March 5th, delivered to a large congregation in Ardebil, Ayatollah Ameli declared, “They have broken the invincibility spell of the Israeli and American armies. Friends and foes alike have expressed admiration, a direct outcome of the far-sighted wisdom and management of the [Supreme] Leader, who from the outset stressed the necessity of transformation in defense industries.” He hailed this achievement as a historic milestone, not just for Iran but for humanity, demonstrating that unwavering will and religious belief can humble formidable powers.
Iran’s Steadfast Resolve
Ayatollah Ameli also extended solemn condolences for recent martyrdoms, including a revered figure within the Islamic Revolution’s leadership and 160 elementary school children, alongside other martyrs of the ongoing conflict. He addressed both the United States and what he termed the “child-killing Zionist regime,” cautioning against any expectation of exhausting the Iranian nation.
“We tell America and Israel, who seek to tire our nation, that the side that started the war is the one that gets tired,” he stated. “But the side that has been attacked, oppressed, and transgressed against is in defense of itself, and therefore will never tire until the danger is removed. Therefore, do not vainly hope for the Iranian nation to become exhausted.”
He further directly challenged former US President Trump, invoking the steadfastness of the 14 Infallibles revered in Shia Islam. “We Iranians are followers of the 14 Infallibles, who never broke under pressure, were never passive, never surrendered, never compromised, never backed down, never lost themselves, never gave up, never lost their dignity, always spoke of victory and triumph, and delivered epic sermons,” Ayatollah Ameli emphasized. “So, definitely and absolutely, cast out of your mind that Iranians will ever surrender to your pressures. These pressures will boomerang and come back to you, just as they have now.”
A Nation on the Defensive
The Imam reiterated Iran’s stance as a nation committed to peace and diplomacy, not aggression. “Everyone should note that we are not the initiators of war. We chose the path of diplomacy; we spent 10 years on the JCPOA, which was entirely to their benefit,” he explained. He accused the opposing parties of betrayal, initiating conflict, and assassinating a prominent leader, underscoring Iran’s position as a respondent to perceived aggressions.
Commending the Armed Forces
Ayatollah Ameli expressed profound gratitude to Iran’s armed forces, including the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Army, for their recent actions. “I sincerely thank these dear ones on behalf of the people and the beloved nation. These dear ones have placed balm on the nation’s wounded heart,” he affirmed. He praised their “very brave revenge” against the US and Israel and their “astounding action” that maintained Iran’s upper hand against its adversaries, describing it as an act of “miracle.”
Emergence as a Regional Power
Concluding his sermon, Ayatollah Ameli articulated a vision of Iran’s ascendance on the global stage. He proclaimed that this recent success solidifies Iran’s position as a “pole of power” in both the region and the world. He asserted that this newfound strength will be even more evident in the future, deterring any nation from daring to violate Iran’s sovereignty.
