Back to School: Major Multi-Agency Oversight Plan Launched for Stationery Market
In preparation for the new academic year, a comprehensive oversight initiative has been launched to ensure market stability and protect consumers in the stationery sector. The plan mobilizes the full supervisory capacity of the province to directly address market concerns.
A Coordinated Supervisory Effort
As reported by Khabar Online, Karim Mojreb detailed that the initiative involves a coordinated effort between multiple government and trade bodies. Participating agencies include the Government Punitive Organization, the General Department of Standards, the Chamber of Guilds, the Mobilization of Guilds, and various trade unions. This united front aims to create a seamless and effective monitoring network across the entire market.
Key Focus Areas of the Initiative
The oversight plan will focus on several critical areas to ensure a fair and orderly market. Primary objectives include strict price and quality control for all writing tools such as notebooks, pencils, pens, and school bags. The initiative will also involve cracking down on overpricing, preventing the supply of counterfeit and smuggled goods, and removing products featuring unethical imagery from shelves.
Furthermore, the plan prohibits the practice of forced bundled sales and mandates that all sellers provide customers with official receipts for their purchases.
Monitoring and Public Participation
The scope of supervision extends to monitoring both physical and virtual advertisements, as well as overseeing direct sales exhibitions for stationery. Data on producers and importers will be registered in the comprehensive trade system to enhance traceability and accountability.
Mojreb emphasized the vital role of public participation, urging families to report any violations they encounter through the 124 reporting system. This collaborative approach between authorities and citizens is seen as key to the plan’s success.
A Test for Market Stability
The Director General of Fars Province’s Ministry of Security, Mining, and Trade stated that this initiative serves as a test case for alleviating financial pressure on families and creating calm within the market. He strongly emphasized that supervisory measures will continue seriously and without any leniency until the stationery market achieves full stability and tranquility for all consumers.
