Iran’s Envoy Delivers Stern Warning: Regional Instability, Rooted in Israeli Actions, Threatens All Neighbors
Geneva, Switzerland – Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva, Ali Bahraini, issued a forthright warning to Arab nations in the region, asserting that ongoing aggressions pose a threat far beyond Iran’s borders and are fundamentally destabilizing the entire regional order. His remarks came during an emergency session of the Human Rights Council, convened at the request of Gulf Cooperation Council states concerning Iran’s regional activities.
Accusations Against Israel and Global Stability
During the session, Ambassador Bahraini unequivocally identified the Israeli regime as the primary architect of instability in the region. He emphasized that the actions attributed to this regime not only jeopardize the security of regional states but also cast a serious shadow over global stability.
The Fabric of Regional Order Under Threat
Bahraini highlighted what he described as illegal joint aggressions by the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran’s territorial integrity, targeting civilian areas and critical infrastructure. He stressed that accountability for these actions extends beyond the direct perpetrators to all parties involved in facilitating, supporting, and enabling these attacks. “These aggressions are not merely aimed at Iran, Lebanon, or Palestine,” Bahraini stated, “they strike at the very fabric of regional order, pushing the world towards chaos and insecurity.”
A Direct Warning to Arab Nations
In a direct caution to Arab countries in the region, the Iranian envoy underscored, “Iran will not be the last target.” He warned that should current trends persist, other regional nations would become “more accessible targets” for the implementation of the regime’s agendas. Bahraini further revealed that attacks on Iran’s civilian infrastructure, cultural centers, vital facilities, refineries, hospitals, industrial complexes, and residential areas have been supported by facilities and bases in some neighboring countries. He alleged that certain areas within these neighboring states have even served as refueling points for warplanes involved in these operations. Questioning how such actions could occur amidst a climate of trust among regional countries, he urged a comprehensive reassessment of regional approaches.
Iran’s Right to Respond and Regional Unity
Ambassador Bahraini affirmed that Iran’s armed forces stand resolute against these threats. He asserted the Islamic Republic of Iran’s inherent right to respond decisively to the sources of these attacks and to prevent any recurrence of aggression. He also addressed a “decades-long Iranophobia project,” characterizing it as an agenda designed to sow discord and weaken regional nations, which has now progressed to create conditions ripe for conflict.
A Call for Convergence
Concluding his address, Bahraini stressed the urgent necessity for regional convergence. He called upon regional countries to foster a shared understanding of threats and to unite. He cautioned that a unilateral focus on Iran in political and legal forums would be a “historical mistake,” arguing that such an approach would not only fail to resolve the crisis but would exacerbate instability and further embolden Israel.
