High-Level Iranian Summit Addresses Digital Economy, Fulfills Presidential Pledge
In a significant move to bolster the nation’s digital sector, Iran’s top leaders convened for a high-stakes summit on Saturday, directly engaging with the country’s leading tech entrepreneurs and digital economy activists.
A Promise Fulfilled
The meeting, hosted by President Masoud Pezeshkian, fulfilled a pledge he made during a previous gathering with digital economy figures on Wednesday. At that meeting, participants raised concerns and demands that required the attention of both the legislative and judicial branches. President Pezeshkian promptly committed to organizing a joint session with the heads of these government branches to address these issues directly.
Unified Leadership in Action
Answering the President’s call, the Saturday summit brought together the heads of all three branches of government. President Pezeshkian was joined by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Parliament), and Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje’i, the Head of the Judiciary.
During the intensive two-hour dialogue, the leaders received the demands, concerns, and perspectives of managers from the largest companies operating within Iran’s digital economy. The meeting, which also included the President’s Chief of Staff and the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, resulted in concrete decisions aimed at resolving some of the key challenges presented by the private sector.
