Major Highways Temporarily Closed
Iman Mehrabi-Nia, spokesperson for Iran’s Road Management Center, announced that the Tehran-North Freeway and the Chalus route (southbound to northbound) remain closed until further notice. Heavy traffic has been reported on the Chalus route (northbound to southbound), particularly in sections such as Do Ab to Miyank, Makarud, and Valiabad to Siah Bisheh. The Haraz route (northbound to southbound) is also experiencing congestion in areas including the Chalaw intersection and the stretch between Vana and Rineh.
Traffic Jams on Other Key Routes
Mehrabi-Nia added that the Firuzkuh route (northbound to southbound) near Gilavand, as well as the Rasht-Qazvin Freeway between Saravan Forest Park and Emamzadeh Hashem, is facing severe congestion. Additional delays have been reported in areas like Rudbar, Shirin Su, and Andisheh Town.
Tehran and Karaj Routes Affected
Traffic remains heavy on the Pardis-Tehran Freeway and the old Bumehen-Tehran route near Jajroud. Similarly, the Karaj-Qazvin route between Mehrshahr and Golshahr, along with the Qazvin-Karaj Freeway (Golshahr to Mehrshahr and near Shahid Kalantari Terminal), is experiencing significant delays. The Saveh-Tehran Freeway near Parand has also reported similar congestion.
Dust Storms Impacting Travel in Eastern Provinces
Strong winds and dust storms have been observed in parts of Razavi Khorasan, South Khorasan, and Sistan and Baluchestan provinces, potentially affecting road conditions.
Border Crossings Remain Operational
Regarding border routes, Mehrabi-Nia confirmed that traffic is flowing normally on key corridors, including Mehran-Ilam, Khosravi-Qasr-e Shirin, Shalamcheh-Khorramshahr, and Chazabeh-Bostan.
Travelers are advised to check for real-time updates before departure.
