Title: Landmark Economic Decision Paves Way for Pension Payment Adjustments
A Major Step Forward for Retirees
In a significant move, Iran’s Social Security Organization has announced that a long-awaited financial resolution has been approved by the Supreme Economic Coordination Council of the Heads of the Three Branches of Government. This decision allocates 185 quadrillion tomans to address the organization’s financial requirements, structured as 70 quadrillion tomans in Islamic financial bonds and 115 quadrillion tomans in stocks and assets.
Funding for Healthcare and Treatment
With the official communication of this resolution and the subsequent allocation of credit, a multi-stage process to convert the approved 70 quadrillion tomans in bonds into liquid assets has been initiated. Once this liquidity is secured, it will be used to settle outstanding obligations with contracted academic and non-academic medical centers, as well as for supplementary health insurance coverage.
Salary Adjustments to Commence
Following up on its previous announcement, the Social Security Organization has confirmed the operational details for the payment of salary adjustments and annual increases. The process for the remaining eligible retirees and pensioners will begin gradually and continuously starting Monday, October 12th, and will be facilitated through agent banks.
Phased Payment Structure Clarified
The organization clarified that the first phase of these payments was previously executed on September 2nd for all retirees with a total income of up to 20 million tomans, as well as for all disabled pensioners. The second phase was subsequently carried out for all survivor pensioners concurrently with their September salary payments.
