In a significant move to support the livelihoods of retirees, overdue pension adjustments and increases dating back to March 2024 are scheduled for payment to more than 4.5 million Social Security Organization pensioners. The payments, totaling a net value of 25,665 billion tomans, will be disbursed in three installments by the end of the Iranian month of Shahrivar (September 21).
Details of the Payment Schedule
The Social Security Organization has announced that the calculations for the overdue payments have been completed for over 4.5 million pensioner files. The substantial financial commitment will be transferred to the beneficiaries’ accounts in three phases, ensuring a structured and manageable distribution process by the end of the current Iranian month.
Key Role of the Court of Audit
The country’s Court of Audit played a pivotal role in expediting this crucial payment process. Through its diligent oversight of the Social Security Organization’s performance, the judicial body has been instrumental in ensuring that pensioners receive their long-awaited dues in a timely manner, underscoring the system’s commitment to its citizens.
This development marks an important step in the nation’s continuous efforts to uphold the economic rights and social welfare of its retired population.
