Supreme Leader Khamenei Invokes National Sacrifice, Foresees US President’s Demise
Qom, Iran – On the annual occasion marking the 19th of Dey 1356 uprising in Qom, a pivotal moment of public support for Imam Khomeini against the Pahlavi regime, thousands of citizens gathered today at the Imam Khomeini Hossainia to meet with Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. During his address, Ayatollah Khamenei spoke on recent events, offering strong commentary on foreign interventions and domestic stability.
Leader Addresses Recent Events and Foreign Interference
Ayatollah Khamenei commented on recent incidents involving certain individuals he termed “saboteurs” in Tehran and other cities, who he stated damaged national property. He suggested their actions were aimed at pleasing the then-US President, who had made what the Leader described as “a baseless statement” offering support to “these rioters and harmful individuals” if the Iranian government were to take certain actions.
Accusations Against the US President
The Supreme Leader asserted that the US President, at the time, faced various challenges within his own country and that his “hands are stained with the blood of over a thousand Iranians.” Ayatollah Khamenei specifically referred to casualties, including those from the general populace, who he said were “martyred in the twelve-day war.” He further highlighted a perceived contradiction, noting the former US President’s claim of having commanded in that “war,” thereby admitting his alleged role in shedding Iranian blood, while simultaneously asserting support for the Iranian nation. The Leader expressed concern that “inexperienced, heedless, and thoughtless people” might believe such claims.
Resilience of the Islamic Republic and Rejection of Mercenaries
Emphasizing the foundational strength of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Khamenei declared that the system was “built on the blood of hundreds of thousands of noble people.” He firmly stated that the Islamic Republic would not yield to saboteurs or tolerate those acting as “foreign mercenaries.” He underscored that any individual engaging in activities for foreign entities would be rejected by both the Iranian nation and the Islamic system.
Historical Parallels and Prediction of Downfall
Drawing historical parallels, Ayatollah Khamenei remarked that proud and arrogant oppressors throughout history, such as Pharaoh, Nimrod, Reza Khan, and Mohammad Reza Shah, have invariably fallen from power at the height of their perceived strength. In this context, he predicted that the US President in question, too, “will fall.”
Call for Unity and National Progress
Concluding his address, the Supreme Leader issued a call to the Iranian youth, urging them to preserve their faith, political consciousness, active presence, readiness, and dedication to the country’s progress. He stressed the paramount importance of national unity, affirming that a unified nation is capable of overcoming any adversary.
