Title: Hormozgan Province Braces for Seasonal Weather System, Maritime Traffic Advisory Issued
Introduction
The Meteorological Department of Hormozgan Province has issued a detailed forecast, indicating the continued influence of a seasonal low-pressure system. This weather pattern is expected to bring significant atmospheric and maritime instability to the region, with officials advising caution for maritime activities.
Maritime Conditions and Warnings
According to an expert from the Hormozgan Meteorological Department, sea conditions are forecast to be rough due to relatively strong south-easterly winds affecting the Strait of Hormuz, the Sea of Oman, and the Persian Gulf. This is anticipated to cause disruptions and impose limitations on maritime traffic.
Mojtaba Hamzenejad, the expert, provided specific details: “The maximum wind speed in the eastern and southern parts of the Strait of Hormuz will be around 50 kilometers per hour, with wave heights reaching up to 200 centimeters.” He strongly advised that light vessels, fishing boats, and recreational craft avoid travel during this period. All maritime activities should be restricted, and necessary precautions must be taken to ensure the safe passage of other vessels in the province’s ports and docks. These strong south-easterly winds are expected to persist until late Sunday.
Atmospheric Instability and Land-Based Advisories
The unstable conditions are also predicted to affect land areas, particularly in the afternoon and early evening. The highlands of the province, specifically Bashagard, Hajjabad, Bastak, the Strait of Hormuz area, and some coastal regions, may experience convective cloud formation. This brings the potential for rainfall, thunderstorms, occasional hail, sudden gusts of wind, and the flooding of seasonal rivers and canals.
Hamzenejad added a further warning: “In areas where conditions are not conducive to rainfall, the emergence of dust and a reduction in air quality is likely.” The public is advised to avoid proximity to the beds of seasonal rivers and to refrain from ascending to high elevations.
Duration and Temperature Outlook
This weather pattern, with fluctuating intensity, is expected to continue into the middle of the upcoming week. A localized intensification of precipitation is probable at the beginning of the week. Throughout this period, temperature fluctuations are not expected to change significantly.
