This statement follows an incident where a projectile impacted the facility’s perimeter on Saturday, April 4th.
Addressing Security Concerns
Ehsan Jahangirian, the Deputy Political, Security, and Social Affairs Governor of Bushehr Province, addressed reporters on Saturday, April 4th, confirming the impact of a projectile within the vicinity of the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant. He characterized this as the fourth such incident since the commencement of the current conflict, attributing it to external adversaries.
Jahangirian highlighted that this action by “the Zionist and American enemy” represents a repeated violation of international laws and regulations, as well as the safety and security principles set forth by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) concerning the protection of nuclear facilities used for peaceful energy production.
Operational Continuity Emphasized
Despite the external provocation, Jahangirian stressed that the incident did not compromise the operational integrity of the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant. He reiterated that the plant’s core functions and energy generation capabilities remain unaffected.
The Deputy Governor further emphasized that the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI) maintains comprehensive awareness and control over all plant operations.
