
Diplomatic Residence Under Siege: Palestinian Ambassador Injured Amidst Tehran Unrest
Tehran, Iran – Palestinian Ambassador Salam Al-Zawawi sustained injuries and required hospitalization after her official residence in Tehran was violently attacked amidst recent street tensions in the city. According to reports from Asr Iran, quoting Shafaqna, the assault occurred recently on a Thursday, coinciding with a period of unrest and violent street activity in the Iranian capital. Approximately 200 assailants were involved in the attack, reportedly using Molotov cocktails and shouting slogans as they breached the residence’s perimeter.
Ambassador Hospitalized, Staff Injured
Ambassador Al-Zawawi suffered from suffocation during the attack and was subsequently transferred to a hospital for medical treatment. In addition to the Ambassador, several embassy staff members present at the residence were also injured. During the harrowing incident, Ambassador Al-Zawawi, her family, and other staff members were forced to seek refuge in the basement of the residence, where they remained until security forces arrived to secure the premises and address the situation.
