Title: Iran’s National PhD Admissions 1405: Registration Deadline Officially Extended
Tehran – In a significant administrative update for Iran’s higher education sector, the National Organization of Educational Testing (Sanjesh) has announced an extension for the registration period for the nationwide PhD (Ph.D.) entrance exam for the academic year 1405.
Deadline Extended for Prospective PhD Candidates
Abdolreza Sayyareh, the Deputy of Examinations at Sanjesh, confirmed that the registration deadline for the semi-centralized PhD entrance exam has been extended. Prospective applicants now have until Friday, the 16th of Aban 1404, to complete their registration process for all universities, including state institutions and the Islamic Azad University.
The registration process, which began on the 4th of Aban, has already seen over 98,000 applicants register. This extension is designed to accommodate candidates who have not yet completed their applications, ensuring wider access to higher education opportunities.
Key Registration Procedures and Guidelines
The registration is conducted exclusively online via the official Sanjesh portal at www.sanjesh.org. Applicants are strongly advised to meticulously study the registration guidebook and all related announcements before proceeding.
A critical point emphasized by officials is that registration is only considered complete once an applicant receives a file number and a tracking code. All candidates must print and securely keep a copy of their application form until the final results are announced. Those who have already registered can also edit their information, if necessary, until the new deadline of 16th Aban.
Exam Schedule and Important Advisory
The specialized PhD exam is scheduled for the morning of Friday, the 10th of Bahman 1404. Admit cards will be available for download from the Sanjesh portal from Tuesday, the 6th of Bahman, until Thursday, the 9th of Bahman. The exam location for each candidate will be determined based on the city and province selected in their application.
Authorities have issued several important advisories to ensure a smooth process:
- Applicants must carefully select their exam field and city, as changes will not be permitted after receiving the tracking code.
- Candidates must personally verify all entered information, especially the uploaded photograph, to prevent errors that could lead to disqualification.
- All conditions and regulations are detailed in the official guidebook, and any changes will be communicated through Sanjesh’s official channels.
Regulations for Previous Acceptees
The announcement included specific guidelines for individuals accepted into previous cycles. Those who were accepted into state-funded (full-time) programs in the year 1404 are not permitted to register for the 1405 exam. To be eligible for future exams, they must have formally withdrawn from their prior acceptance before the registration period ends.
Similarly, individuals currently enrolled in state-funded programs from the year 1403 or earlier must submit a formal withdrawal to participate in the 1405 exam. Applicants accepted into non-state-funded programs in 1404 may register for the 1405 exam without needing to withdraw from their current studies, provided they meet all other criteria.
This structured and extended process underscores the commitment to a transparent and accessible higher education system for all qualified candidates in Iran.
