Fars Province Implements Remote Work Directive Amid Severe Heatwave
In a decisive move to address a severe heatwave, the Fars Provincial Government has announced a mandatory remote work day for all public and private sector offices this Saturday.
Proactive Measures for Public Welfare and Energy Management
Amin Kehva, the Deputy for Management and Resource Development of Fars Governorate, detailed the directive. He stated that all executive agencies, state and non-governmental offices, banks, universities, and insurance companies across the province will operate via remote work on Saturday, September 1st, 2024.
This strategic decision, approved by the Provincial Governor and based on a directive from the National Security Council, is a direct response to the persistent rise in temperatures. The primary objectives are threefold: to manage energy consumption effectively, ensure the stability of the power grid, and safeguard public health during the extreme weather conditions.
Operational Exceptions and Continuity of Essential Services
Mr. Kehva emphasized that all organizations are obligated to adhere to this directive. The operational status of military and law enforcement personnel will be determined by the province’s senior military official, ensuring security is maintained.
Crucially, the order does not apply to emergency and rescue centers, including medical emergency services and fire departments, which will continue their normal, vital operations without interruption. To continue serving citizens, some bank branches will also remain open on an on-call basis.
This coordinated action demonstrates the province’s structured and preemptive approach to mitigating the challenges posed by the climate, prioritizing both infrastructure stability and the well-being of its citizens.
