Title: Final Medical Report: Specialist Provides Critical Update on Volleyball Star Saber Kazemi’s Condition
In a significant development, Iranian national volleyball team player Saber Kazemi has been successfully transferred from Qatar to Tehran. The transfer, conducted via a special medical flight, was authorized by the official medical commission and coordinated meticulously between the Iranian Volleyball Federation, its medical team, and Qatari healthcare authorities.
A Coordinated Repatriation Effort
The operation to bring the athlete home was marked by extensive planning and cooperation. The Iranian Volleyball Federation, under the leadership of its president, worked in full coordination with medical professionals to ensure a safe and secure transfer for the player, who required specialized care.
Specialist Clarifies the Medical Incident
Dr. Reza Jabbari, a prominent brain and spine specialist dispatched by the Volleyball Federation to Qatar, provided a crucial medical update. He clarified the nature of the incident, stating that the primary cause was a severe vascular event in the brain, which led to a loss of consciousness and subsequent cardiac and respiratory complications.
“From the first day I reviewed the medical documents, it was clear that this was a vascular brain injury, not an electrical accident as some initial reports suggested,” Dr. Jabbari explained. “The necessary treatments were administered, and his current level of consciousness has been stable since my assessment.”
The Timeline of the Emergency Response
Detailing the immediate response to the incident, Dr. Jabbari highlighted the swift action of the emergency teams in Qatar. “The first emergency team arrived within 10 to 12 minutes of being notified, demonstrating a rapid reaction. A second team also arrived, and resuscitation efforts began immediately,” he stated.
The athlete was transported to a hospital within 25 minutes of the initial incident. While he required an additional 12 minutes of cardiac resuscitation during the first hour, no further cardiac arrests have occurred since.
The Path Forward and a Request for Privacy
Regarding the ongoing treatment plan, Dr. Jabbari expressed cautious optimism. “Given that his consciousness has been at this level for over a week, we have a series of treatments and measures in mind. Contrary to earlier concerns about potential deterioration, we are hopeful about certain aspects of his recovery, though this does not imply a full recovery at this stage.”
In line with a request from Saber Kazemi’s family, the doctor appealed for privacy and public support. “Out of respect for the family’s wishes, we will not be providing further detailed information. We ask everyone to join us in praying for his improvement.”
Dr. Jabbari concluded by formally acknowledging the efforts of the Volleyball Federation and the Qatari officials, stating, “The Volleyball Federation has spared no effort. I would also like to offer special thanks to the Qatari Minister of Health for their exceptional cooperation and kindness.”
