Protein and Dairy Analysis
Within the Meat, Poultry, and Related Products segment, factory-farmed chicken prices rose by 5.8%, while rainbow trout increased by 3.8%. The Dairy, Eggs, and Oils category saw pasteurized Iranian cheese lead with a 5.1% price hike. Pasteurized doogh (a yogurt drink) followed with a 3.8% increase, and both solid vegetable oil and pasteurized yogurt saw a 3.3% rise. The Fruits and Nuts group experienced some of the most dramatic shifts. Orange prices surged by 17.1%, bananas by 8.6%, and peaches by 6.2%. Conversely, the price of fresh lemons dropped sharply by 15.7%.
A separate section on Vegetables and Legumes showed substantial increases for cucumbers (28.1%), mushrooms (18.6%), and eggplant (7.9%). This was balanced by notable price reductions for potatoes (-10.3%), bell peppers (-9.9%), and tomatoes (-6.5%).
Finally, in the Sugar, Beverages, and Other Foods category, mayonnaise (3.9%), tomato paste (3.7%), and packaged foreign tea (3.0%) recorded the highest increases.
