Title: New Welfare Initiative Provides Comprehensive Support for Families with Multiple Births
In a significant move to bolster social welfare, Iran’s State Welfare Organization has launched a comprehensive financial and social support program for families with multiple births. The initiative is designed to alleviate the psychological and financial pressures on these households and enhance their overall well-being.
Monthly Stipend for Eligible Families
The cornerstone of the program is a direct monthly stipend. Families with twins falling within the first to fifth income deciles, and those with triplets or more in the first to seventh deciles, are now eligible to receive a monthly payment of 4.4 million Tomans. This targeted approach ensures that support reaches those families most in need of economic assistance.
Expanded Support for Nutrition and Care
Going beyond direct cash payments, the program includes two major supplementary schemes:
- Nutritional Improvement Grant: This grant is allocated for children from multiple births who are diagnosed with malnutrition by health centers. The financial support continues until the child’s nutritional status improves, with the grant amount seeing an increase this year compared to the previous one.
- Caregiver Allowance: Acknowledging the immense pressure on parents of triplets or more, this unique allowance enables families to hire a caregiver for several hours a day. The primary goal is to support mothers and families with daily tasks such as cooking, shopping, and personal errands, thereby increasing parental rest and stability.
A Holistic Approach to Family Welfare
Officials from the Welfare Organization emphasized that the simultaneous arrival of multiple children fundamentally transforms a family’s life. These programs represent a new pathway to strengthen the welfare structure for these families, effectively reinforcing the care system for children from multiple births and ensuring they have a supportive environment to thrive.
The implementation of these schemes is a clear reflection of the state’s commitment to supporting family foundations and safeguarding the health and prosperity of the next generation.
