Iran’s Parliamentary Education Committee Prioritizes Early Childhood Development and Retiree Benefits
In a recent development, Iran’s Parliamentary Commission of Education and Research has been reconstituted, with Mr. Alireza Monadi reappointed as its chairman for another term. The commission has outlined its key priorities, which include significant advancements in the country’s educational policy and the fulfillment of financial commitments to retired educators.
Steering National Education Policy
Despite discussions on the evolving role of parliamentary commissions in final policy-making, Mr. Monadi highlighted the commission’s successful coordination with the government and the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution. This collaboration has been pivotal in setting important strategic directions for Iran’s education system, ensuring it meets national development goals.
A New Focus on Early Childhood Education
A central pillar of the commission’s new agenda is a heightened focus on the education and upbringing of children under seven. Chairman Monadi, in an interview with Mehr News Agency, emphasized that this demographic is a top priority.
“We have 7.5 million children aged zero to six in the country,” Monadi stated. “Specific programs have been developed for this group, and the necessary resources have been allocated for their implementation. The results of these initiatives will become apparent soon.”
Positive News for Retired Teachers: End-of-Service Bonuses
In welcome news for the nation’s cultural retirees, the chairman addressed the long-awaited payment of end-of-service bonuses. He confirmed that the President has pledged to resolve the matter promptly.
“Due to certain past challenges, there have been delays in this area,” Monadi explained. “However, the issue is certainly being addressed and will be settled soon.” He provided a concrete timeline, assuring that end-of-service bonuses for retirees of the current Iranian year (1403) will be disbursed by the end of the month of Shahrivar. Payments have already commenced for some retirees, with all eligible cultural retirees from this year expected to receive their dues shortly.
This announcement marks a significant step in supporting the individuals who have dedicated their careers to building Iran’s educational foundation.
