Title: Landmark Financial Support Package for Iranian Pensioners Commences
In a significant move to enhance social welfare, the Iranian government has initiated a major financial support program for the nation’s retirees, featuring the disbursement of long-awaited arrears and new low-interest loans.
New Loan Disbursements Underway
Mr. Hojjatollah Mirzaei, Managing Director of the Civil Servants Retirement Fund, announced that the third phase of essential loans for pensioners is now in effect. To date, a total of 90,000 retirees have benefited from this initiative, with 30,000 individuals recently receiving 50 million tomans in financial assistance.
Furthermore, support for family milestones is also being addressed. Of the 32,000 retiree applicants who requested marriage loans for their children, 16,000 have already received their funds. The remaining applicants are scheduled to receive their facilities within the next one to two months.
Settlement of Long-Standing Arrears
In a parallel development, Mr. Mirzaei provided a positive update on the resolution of delayed payments. The second installment of the 1400 (2021) harmonization arrears for retired Ministry of Education personnel will be paid alongside their August pension. This follows the successful payment of the first installment in Khordad (May/June), which was settled after a four-year delay.
Adding to this financial clarity, the official pledged that the third installment of the 1403 (2024) harmonization arrears will be fully settled by the end of the current Iranian year.
Streamlined Access to New Marriage Loans
The Welfare Services Department of the Retirement Fund has launched a new, transparent process for the 60-million-toman marriage loan for retirees’ children. Starting today (August 19, 2024), the list of eligible applicants is available for review on the Fund’s official electronic services portal at eservices.cspf.ir.
This new facility will be distributed in two phases, with the first transfer to beneficiaries’ accounts scheduled before the end of the current month.
This comprehensive package underscores the ongoing commitment to safeguarding the financial security and social well-being of Iran’s retired community.
