Hezbollah Issues Firm Denial Following Joulani Government’s Syria Accusations
Hezbollah Rejects Syria Claims
The Media Relations Department of Lebanon’s Hezbollah on Sunday issued a strong statement refuting accusations made by the Interior Ministry of Joulani’s government in Syria. The statement comes in response to what Hezbollah described as a futile attempt to implicate the movement in internal Syrian affairs.
Categorical Denial of Syrian Presence
In its communique, Hezbollah explicitly stated, “We have no activities, connections, or contact with any party in Syria, nor do we have any presence on its soil. We affirm our emphasis and concern for Syria’s unity and the security of its people.” This declaration underscores the group’s firm position regarding its involvement, or lack thereof, within Syrian territory.
Joulani Government’s Allegations Detailed
Earlier on Sunday, Joulani’s government’s Interior Ministry claimed to have dismantled a “terrorist cell” operating in the Damascus suburbs. The ministry alleged that this group was responsible for orchestrating attacks against the Al-Mezzeh area and its military airport. Furthermore, the ministry asserted that ongoing investigations revealed the cell’s connections to “foreign parties,” and specifically named Hezbollah Lebanon as the source of the rockets, launch platforms, and drones utilized by the alleged cell.
