Iran Launches “Mehr Afarin” National Travel Scheme for Educators and Retirees
In a significant move to enhance the welfare of its educational workforce, the Iranian Cultural Savings Fund has announced the rollout of a special subsidized travel plan for both active and retired teachers.
Substantial Subsidies for Domestic Tourism
The initiative, named the “Mehr Afarin National Plan for Educators,” is designed to benefit over 1.8 million members of the fund and their families. Under the scheme, participants will pay only half of their travel costs upfront in cash. The remaining balance can be settled in up to 11 convenient monthly installments, deducted directly from their salaries or pensions.
Comprehensive Travel Packages
The plan offers detailed and affordable travel packages. A core package for a family of three includes:
- A four-day, three-night stay including accommodation and three daily meals for 12 million tomans.
- Each additional person can be added for 4 million tomans.
Nationwide Reach and Ambitious Execution
The program is set to facilitate travel for more than 800 educators and their families each week. It features tours to major domestic destinations renowned for their cultural and recreational value, including Mashhad, Shiraz, Isfahan, Kish Island, Babolsar, Gorgan, and Chaboksar. Accommodations will be provided in high-quality 3-star Plus and 4-star hotels with full service.
A Commitment to Quality and Welfare
Ali Sadeghi, the Managing Director of the Fund, emphasized that the quality of execution is a top priority over merely signing agreements. He stated that the capabilities of the Fund’s subsidiary companies in aviation and tourism will be leveraged to ensure the plan’s successful implementation.
Further underscoring the government’s focus on the teaching community, Mr. Shokuhi, Chairman of the Fund’s Board of Directors, announced the formation of a “Committee for the Dignity and Welfare of Educators.” He stressed that the primary goal of these initiatives is to “enhance welfare and preserve the dignity and status of educators.”
This tourism plan follows successful models from other companies and is committed to being delivered with minimal imperfections and at a standard worthy of its members.
