QAZVIN – Iran’s strategic vision for economic growth and industrial competitiveness is firmly rooted in technological advancement and robust export development, according to Seyyed Mohammad Atabak, the Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade. Speaking during a visit to Qazvin province and the inauguration of a new production unit, Minister Atabak underscored the government’s commitment to fostering a dynamic industrial sector capable of thriving in global markets.
Enhancing Competitiveness Through Innovation
During the opening ceremony of the Iran-Rees Textile Company’s production unit in Alborz county, Qazvin, Minister Atabak highlighted how the strategic integration of knowledge and advanced technology has significantly elevated the industrial sector’s competitive edge. He emphasized that exports are not merely an economic activity but a strategic complement vital for sustainable national production.
Qazvin: A Model of Industrial Strength
The Minister lauded Qazvin province for its pivotal role in Iran’s industrial landscape. Despite its modest geographical size, Qazvin stands as a major production hub, with over half of its economic value-added originating from its burgeoning industrial sector. This regional success exemplifies the potential for industrial growth across the nation.
Global Market Presence and Sustainable Employment
Addressing the role of industries like textiles, Minister Atabak stressed their importance in driving technological upgrades and securing a stronger presence in international markets. He asserted the necessity of a dual focus on both production and trade, given the intense competition in global arenas. Acknowledging sustainable employment as a core government priority, he reiterated that this crucial objective is intrinsically linked to the expansion of exports.
Government’s Trade Diplomacy and Future Outlook
Minister Atabak detailed the 14th Government’s proactive approach to international trade, particularly through the signing of numerous bilateral trade agreements with neighboring countries. These agreements, he noted, have created significant and valuable opportunities for export development. He urged Iranian traders and economic actors to fully capitalize on these newly forged capacities, aligning their efforts with the nation’s focus on sustainable production and a robust export-driven economy.
