Iran Condemns “Terrorist Act” as Flotilla Attacked, Calls for Global Action on Gaza
In a strong statement addressing a recent maritime incident, Iran’s Foreign Ministry has issued a stern condemnation of an attack on a civilian flotilla and reiterated its call for international intervention in Gaza.
A Firm Condemnation
Esmail Baghaei, the spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, forcefully denounced what he described as the repeated attacks by the “Zionist regime” on the “Steadfastness” humanitarian flotilla and the detention of its crew. The flotilla was on a mission to support the people of Gaza.
Violation of International Norms
Baghaei praised the humanitarian efforts of activists and civil groups from various countries who seek to support the Palestinian people and break the “oppressive blockade” of the Gaza Strip. He characterized the attack on the flotilla as a clear violation of international rules and a “terrorist act.”
Call for Global Responsibility
Furthermore, the spokesperson emphasized the ongoing situation in Gaza, stating that the legal, moral, and human responsibility of all governments is to halt the actions against the Palestinian people. He called for war criminals to be held accountable and prosecuted, urging the international community to take immediate and decisive action to fulfill this responsibility.
