Iran Launches Comprehensive Economic Support for War-Affected Regions
Tehran, Iran – Iran’s Minister of Economy and Financial Affairs, Ali Madanizadeh, has announced the government’s approval of a comprehensive support package designed to aid businesses and households impacted by conflict. The initiative underscores the government’s proactive commitment to economic resilience and social welfare in regions facing the consequences of war.
Strategic Economic Intervention
The newly approved package represents a strategic intervention by the Iranian government to mitigate economic hardships and ensure stability in war-affected areas. Minister Madanizadeh stated that the initiative was thoroughly deliberated and passed by the government, reflecting a direct and organized approach to addressing localized economic challenges.
Targeted Aid for Businesses
A key component of the support package is direct financial assistance to eligible businesses operating in sectors and geographical areas that have suffered from the conflict. Under the new provisions, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that commit to maintaining their employment levels will receive 15 million Toman per employee. This aid, provided as working capital, is specifically designed to help businesses sustain operations, preserve jobs, and counter economic contraction amidst challenging circumstances.
Support for Vulnerable Households
In addition to business aid, the package includes crucial assistance for vulnerable families residing in war-affected zones. Households where neither the head nor any other member has a fixed income and have been impacted by the conflict will receive financial support. Based on lists provided by the Ministry of Welfare, a three-person household is earmarked to receive approximately 15 million Toman. This allocation is intended to serve as working capital to help families manage expenditures during the period of conflict, with a structured repayment plan spread over the course of a year. Minister Madanizadeh emphasized that this aid is designed to provide essential support to help these families navigate their current circumstances.
The announcement highlights the Iranian government’s ongoing efforts to safeguard its citizens and economic infrastructure in regions experiencing the brunt of conflict, ensuring targeted relief reaches those most in need.
