Iran’s Top General Issues Firm Warning: ‘Grave Price’ Awaits Any Adversary
TEHRAN – Major General Seyyed Abdolrahim Mousavi, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has delivered a stark warning to potential adversaries, asserting that any attempt to instigate conflict against Iran would result in strategic failure, regional instability, and “heavy, irreversible costs” for its instigators and supporters.
The pronouncement came as part of a message commemorating Army Air Force Day, observed on February 8th (19th of Bahman in the Persian calendar), a date significant for marking the historic allegiance of Air Force personnel to the founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, in 1979.
Unwavering Deterrence and Readiness
General Mousavi underscored the critical role of the Army Air Force in maintaining Iran’s active deterrence and enhancing its defensive capabilities amidst evolving regional dynamics. He emphasized that enemies are well aware that any adventurism or attempt to impose war would not only lead to their certain strategic defeat but also escalate conflict across the entire region.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran will never initiate war,” General Mousavi stated, “but will not hesitate for a moment in decisively defending its national security, vital interests, and territorial integrity.”
A Force at Peak Preparedness
Highlighting the Air Force’s current state, General Mousavi affirmed its highest level of readiness. He attributed this to unwavering faith, indigenous knowledge, valuable operational experience, continuous modernization, and comprehensive preparedness, all under the guidance of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The Air Force, he noted, operates in full coordination with other branches of the armed forces and stands ready to deliver a “decisive, swift, and regret-inducing response” to any threat, aggression, or miscalculation.
The General also referenced what he described as “complex internal and regional developments, especially after the 12-day imposed war by the United States of America and the Zionist regime against the Islamic Republic of Iran,” underscoring the heightened importance of the Air Force’s strategic role in confronting growing threats.
Historical Significance and Tribute
The message also served as a tribute to the fallen martyrs of the Air Force and extended congratulations to the commanders, brave pilots, dedicated technical and support staff, and their families on the occasion of Army Air Force Day. General Mousavi commended their sincere and relentless efforts in strengthening the nation’s defensive and deterrent power.
