Iran’s Diplomatic Push: Senior Envoys Engage in Oman-Mediated Nuclear Talks
Muscat, Oman – Iran’s senior diplomatic delegation has embarked on the second round of crucial indirect talks with the United States concerning the nuclear issue, mediated by Oman. Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed the continuation of these high-stakes discussions, underscoring Tehran’s active engagement in diplomatic efforts.
Oman Facilitates Key Dialogue
The talks, which commenced yesterday, saw senior Iranian diplomat and lead negotiator Seyed Abbas Araghchi hold discussions with his Omani counterpart. Today, the dialogue is set to resume, with the Omani Foreign Minister playing a pivotal role in facilitating communication by conveying viewpoints between the Iranian and American delegations. This mechanism allows for a structured exchange of perspectives on the core nuclear topics.
Parallel Engagements with IAEA
In parallel to the Oman-mediated discussions, Araghchi also engaged yesterday with the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, to review technical matters related to the nuclear program. Reports indicate that the American delegation is also holding separate discussions with Grossi and the Omani side, highlighting the multi-faceted nature of the ongoing diplomatic endeavors.
Iran to Articulate Positions Globally
The spokesperson further added that the Iranian delegation was set to depart for the negotiation venue imminently. In a broader diplomatic move, Seyed Abbas Araghchi is scheduled to participate in an international meeting later this afternoon, Geneva time, where he will articulate Iran’s official positions. The ongoing talks are expected to continue until the afternoon, reflecting the intensity of the diplomatic push. These engagements underscore Iran’s commitment to advancing its diplomatic objectives and clarifying its stance on critical international issues.
