Sharif University Confirms Default In-Person Exams and Defenses
In a recent announcement, Sharif University of Technology has clarified its academic procedures, confirming that scheduled exams and graduate thesis defenses will be held in-person by default.
Official Stance on Academic Activities
According to the university’s educational department, all pre-scheduled exams are to be conducted on campus. The official policy states that this is the default format unless an individual course instructor decides otherwise.
This directive extends to graduate studies. Defense sessions for postgraduate students planned for the immediate period will also be held in-person. An exception is permitted only if the supervisor of the defense session, in consultation with the faculty’s postgraduate deputy, decides on an alternative arrangement.
Communication of Virtual Classes
For any classes that are to be held online, the university has stated that the method and platform for these virtual sessions will be communicated directly to students by their respective instructors. This ensures a clear and organized flow of information within each academic unit.
