Iranian Government Unveils Insurance Support for Journalists via Art Credit Fund
Tehran – In a significant move to bolster support for the nation’s media professionals, Hojatoleslam Hossein Maleki, the Director-General of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance for Tehran Province, has announced that a dedicated insurance policy for journalists is being facilitated through the Art Credit Fund.
Addressing Professional and Livelihood Concerns
Speaking on the Ministry’s supportive programs, Maleki emphasized that addressing the professional and livelihood issues of journalists is a key priority for his department. He confirmed that the matter of providing and renewing insurance policies for journalists is being actively pursued through the established Art Credit Fund.
“The insurance coverage for journalists is being followed up through the Art Credit Fund,” Maleki stated. He further provided a clear recourse for any journalist encountering difficulties, adding, “If journalists face any problems in the process of obtaining or renewing their insurance membership, they can report the issue to the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in Tehran Province so that it can be reviewed and resolved through the Art Credit Fund and the relevant ministry.”
Praise for Media’s Role in Regional Coverage
The official also took the opportunity to commend Iranian journalists for their professional efforts in covering recent regional and global developments. He specifically highlighted their performance during the 12-day war in Gaza, noting that media figures “shone brightly” and conveyed the realities to the people with “honesty, accuracy, and professional commitment.”
A Packed Agenda for Media Development
Looking ahead, Maleki outlined an ambitious agenda for the coming year. He revealed that the cultural calendar for the upcoming Iranian year (1405) includes numerous programs dedicated to the press and journalists. These initiatives are set to encompass specialized training workshops, professional meetings, and ceremonies to honor distinguished media activists.
Organizing and Supporting Digital Media
In a further expansion of the Ministry’s outreach, Maleki announced plans to systematically organize and support active media in the digital space. “Currently, the Ministry is in the process of gathering precise statistics and information from digital media activists,” he said. “After a complete identification process, the procedure for organizing and providing targeted support for them will begin.”
This comprehensive approach signals a continued focus on integrating and strengthening all facets of the national media landscape.
