Kashan Universities Suspend In-Person Classes Due to Air Quality and Health Concerns
In a proactive response to deteriorating environmental conditions, major universities in the city of Kashan have announced a temporary shift to remote learning. The decision, affecting thousands of students, underscores the institutional priority placed on public health and academic continuity.
Preemptive Measures Enacted
The Crisis Management Committee of the University of Kashan issued an official statement canceling all in-person classes for Tuesday and Wednesday. The announcement clarified that academic activities would proceed through virtual platforms or be rescheduled as compensatory sessions by the course instructors.
Similarly, the Islamic Azad University, Kashan branch, released its own directive, suspending physical classes on the same days. The university cited the dual factors of widespread influenza and heightened air pollution as the primary reasons for the precautionary measure, confirming that all instruction would be migrated to its dedicated online system.
Rescheduled Academic Deadlines
To ensure academic integrity is maintained, both institutions have also postponed key assessments. All mid-term examinations and thesis defense sessions originally scheduled from Tuesday through Thursday will be rescheduled for subsequent weeks. Students and faculty are to await further official communication for the new dates.
Administrative Functions Continue
Despite the shift in academic delivery, the universities confirmed that all administrative sections and offices will remain operational and continue their regular duties without interruption. This highlights a targeted approach to the health measures, minimizing disruption to the essential services that support the academic infrastructure.
