Kurdistan Province Braces for Stable Weather, Potential Dust Conditions
TEHRAN – Meteorologists are forecasting a period of atmospheric stability across Kurdistan Province, with a significant drop in temperatures expected by the weekend.
According to a detailed report from the regional meteorological office, calm and consistent weather patterns are set to dominate the province through the end of the current week. Rokhsa Hosseini, a provincial weather expert, provided the forecast, highlighting both the stable conditions and specific regional advisories.
A Predictable Forecast
The latest meteorological models indicate that residents can expect largely clear and settled skies from Wednesday through Friday. A notable feature will be increased wind speeds during the afternoon hours, particularly on Wednesday and Thursday.
Regional Advisory on Air Quality
While the weather remains generally stable, expert analysis points to westerly air currents over neighboring Iraq. These conditions may facilitate the cross-border transfer of dust particles into parts of Kurdistan Province, potentially leading to a temporary reduction in air quality during some periods. Citizens, especially those with respiratory sensitivities, are advised to stay informed on official air quality updates.
A Welcome Cooldown
A key takeaway from the forecast is a pronounced downward trend in temperatures over the next five days. Meteorologists anticipate a noticeable decrease in the intense summer heat, providing a more comfortable climate by Friday and the weekend.
Reflecting on recent conditions, Hosseini noted that in the past 24 hours, the city of Sirvan recorded the province’s highest temperature at 46 degrees Celsius, while the town of Ghamlo was the coolest at 9 degrees. The provincial capital, Sanandaj, experienced temperatures fluctuating between 15 and 38 degrees Celsius.
