Education as a Shield: Iran’s Minister Emphasizes Youth Awareness and Ideological Resilience
Tehran, Iran – Iran’s Minister of Education, Alireza Kazemi, has underscored the uninterrupted continuation of student learning, both through in-person classes and the virtual “Shad” platform. Speaking at a crucial virtual meeting with provincial education officials, Minister Kazemi outlined a vision that blends academic continuity with a robust focus on national unity, ideological clarity, and the safeguarding of youth against perceived external influences.
Ensuring Educational Continuity
Minister Kazemi affirmed the consistent operation of the “Shad” application and the necessity for regular educational engagement. He highlighted that despite challenges, classroom instruction has remained active, transitioning to virtual formats via the Shad network when necessary. This commitment, he stated, ensures that the nation’s students continue their academic journey without disruption.
Upholding National Values: Leadership’s Guidance
In his address, Minister Kazemi extended gratitude for the directives provided by the Supreme Leader during his recent meeting with the people of Qom. Emphasizing adherence to these statements during what he termed “special conditions,” the Minister stressed the vital importance of maintaining social cohesion between the national system and all segments of society. He also evoked a powerful ideological vision, stating his belief that “by the blessing of the martyrs’ blood, the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran will always fly high over Islamic Iran and will connect to the global revolution of Imam Mahdi (AS).” He also commended provincial education directors for their unwavering commitment to the mission of the education system under challenging circumstances.
The ‘Jihad of Clarification’: Engaging the Youth
A significant political directive from the Minister centered on what he termed “Jihad of Clarification” (جهاد تبیین). Kazemi called for a serious approach to raising awareness among adolescents, urging educators to stand united and implement this effort for the younger generation. He stressed the importance of engaging in dialogue, responding to students’ questions and doubts with patience and kindness, and employing persuasion in an environment of mutual understanding. The Minister explicitly instructed teachers, managers, and counselors to explain to students and their families “the country’s conditions and the plots designed by the enemy against the system.”
Mobilizing Educational Resources for National Purpose
To effectively carry out this mission, Minister Kazemi emphasized leveraging the full capacity of teachers, school administrators, and counselors within classrooms. He further directed the utilization of Parent-Teacher Associations to raise awareness among guardians and ensure special care for children, fostering collaboration between educators and advisors. This comprehensive strategy aims to provide students with both academic instruction and a deeper understanding of national values and challenges, aligning education with broader state objectives.
