Title: Nationwide “Iran Ashura’i” Campaign Delivers Essential Aid to Communities
A major charitable initiative has provided substantial support to students and families across Iran, marking the auspicious occasion of the birth of the Prophet of Mercy (PBUH) and the new school year.
Educational Support in Sarab
In Sarab, the head of the local Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation committee, Abbas Shafaati, announced the distribution of 500 educational support packages. The packages, which included school bags, shoes, and stationery, were provided by the benevolent donors of Tehran’s Hosseinieh Azam Maktab al-Abbas (AS) and are valued at over 1.58 billion tomans.
Alborz Province Joins the “Iran Ashura’i” Campaign
Simultaneously, Alborz Province launched a widespread effort as part of the ongoing “Iran Ashura’i” campaign. The initiative focuses on providing faithful service to the people, with the initial phase seeing the distribution of 15,000 livelihood packages to those in need.
The head of the Alborz Province Construction Basij, Mohammad Falahatkar, explained that the campaign leverages a network of Basij bases, jihad groups, and benefactors. Aid, both monetary and in-kind, is collected from the public to assemble the essential parcels. He emphasized that assistance is prioritized and distributed based on carefully identified needs, ensuring it reaches those with limited financial means.
“This campaign is not limited to a specific time,” stated Falahatkar. “Attending to the matters of the underprivileged is an inseparable part of the Construction Basij’s mission.” He added that with the rainy season approaching, a special plan to waterproof the homes of needy families in deprived areas is also being implemented under this campaign.
Extensive Aid Distributed in Mazandaran
The scope of the nationwide effort was further highlighted in Mazandaran Province. The commander of the Karbala Guards, Sardar Mohammadreza Movahed, reported that over 100,000 livelihood packages and 1,200 health kits had been distributed to needy families.
Detailing the campaign’s achievements, which ran from the day of Arbaeen until the Prophet’s birthday, he noted the participation of 480 jihad groups and 3,800 Basij resistance bases. Beyond the distribution of aid, the campaign facilitated significant infrastructure support, including providing 1,045 rolls of waterproofing material for housing and the renovation of 83 residential units. Furthermore, 60 marriage dowries were gifted to underprivileged couples, and 7,000 stationery packages, 500 pairs of bags and shoes, and 43 household appliances were distributed to students and families.
Semnan Congress Honors Martyrs Through Service
In Semnan, preparations for the Congress of 3,000 Martyrs are being coupled with charitable acts. The head of the congress’s Public Participation and Support Working Group announced that 3,000 livelihood packages would be donated to needy families in the name of the martyrs.
In a lasting tribute, 3,000 classrooms across the province are also slated for renovation and rebuilding in the martyrs’ honor. To coincide with the new academic year, over 10,000 educational packages for students in need are being distributed continuously. The official stated that the support working group is also preparing to host an estimated 10,000 daily visitors to the congress with traditional hospitality units (mawakib).
