A Call for Visionary Leadership: Mohsen Rahami Addresses Iran’s Assembly of Experts
TEHRAN – Hojjat-ul-Islam wa al-Muslimeen Mohsen Rahami, head of the “International Peace for All Foundation,” has issued a compelling statement to Iran’s esteemed Assembly of Experts, outlining a profound vision for the nation’s future leadership. His message, shared via ISNA, follows a deeply significant premise, framing a crucial moment for national direction and international engagement.
Lamenting a Leader, Condemning Aggression
Rahami’s address begins with a poignant lament, asserting the martyrdom of the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. He attributes this passing to what he describes as an aggressive and terrorist attack by “the most wicked individuals,” whose hands, he states, are “stained with the blood of innocents across the globe, particularly in Palestine and oppressed Gaza,” and whose “moral corruption is widely known.”
He pays tribute to the martyred leader, highlighting his significant contributions from his tenure in the first Islamic Consultative Assembly (where Rahami had the honor of working with him), to his service as the nation’s third President, and ultimately as the Supreme Leader of Islamic Iran. Rahami emphasizes the leader’s unwavering commitment to advancing the system’s objectives, bolstering national strength and authority, and solidifying Islamic resistance in the face of global arrogance. Rahami extends his heartfelt condolences to the Iranian people, supporters worldwide, and especially the esteemed family, praying for elevated spiritual ranks for the departed.
Iran’s Resilience and a Call for Global Justice
Building on this premise, Rahami vehemently condemns what he terms the “savage aggression by America and the Zionist regime.” He asserts that these actions violate Iran’s territorial integrity and independence, leading to not only the martyrdom of the Supreme Leader but also numerous citizens, including innocent students and valiant defenders. He details the destruction of military and civilian infrastructure, schools, hospitals, homes, and cultural and commercial sites, unequivocally declaring such acts as contrary to all human principles and international law.
Rahami then issues an urgent appeal to international bodies and independent governments that prioritize global peace and security over the interests of “colonialist regimes.” He urges them to decisively condemn this brutal aggression, employ effective national and international tools to prevent intervention in sovereign nations’ internal affairs, and curb military expansionism. His vision calls for creating effective mechanisms to halt wars, eliminate the root causes of such aggressions, and foster a world where global justice and equal rights prevail for all humanity, preventing new forms of colonialism and exploitation, and ultimately forging a future free from violence.
Rahami underscores Iran’s historical resilience as an ancient cradle of civilization, affirming that the nation, through divine grace and the courage of its people, has overcome countless challenges. He expresses conviction that the Iranian nation, united in solidarity and fully supporting its government, armed forces, and devoted servants, will overcome the current trials and successfully repel its adversaries. He concludes this section with a message of divine promise, affirming that during the blessed month of Ramadan and particularly the holy nights of Qadr, divine victory and peace will descend upon the pure hearts of the faithful.
Guiding the Assembly of Experts on Future Leadership
In light of these critical circumstances, Mohsen Rahami turns his attention to the esteemed members of the Assembly of Experts, offering “sincere advice.” He expresses a clear expectation that in selecting the “third leader” (following the passing of the current Supreme Leader), the Assembly should prioritize:
- Holistic Development: Fostering political, social, cultural, and economic progress.
- International Engagement: Enhancing Iran’s standing and relations on the global stage.
- Public Participation: Increasing the involvement of citizens in their societal affairs.
- Deepening Freedoms: Expanding and institutionalizing public liberties.
- Social Justice: Further solidifying and institutionalizing social justice.
Rahami’s overarching goal for this “third leadership era” is for Iran to witness ever-increasing success across all domains. He envisions Iran, as a civilizational trailblazer, serving as a global model for human values, notably freedom, justice, and a spirituality-based democracy.
