Nation’s Roadways Remain Secure and Operational Amidst External Pressures, Minister Affirms
Tehran, Iran – The Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Farzaneh Sadegh, has issued a strong reassurance regarding the security and operational integrity of Iran’s road infrastructure, emphasizing the nation’s resilience in the face of external challenges. During a visit to a toll station leading into Tehran, the Minister condemned recent acts targeting civilian infrastructure, stating that such actions underscore a deliberate attempt to disrupt essential public services.
Defiance Against Disruption
“The regime and country that claimed to be coming to the aid of the Iranian people are today targeting what is directly connected to public services,” Minister Sadegh remarked, referencing the attacks on civilian facilities. She highlighted the strength of Iranian engineering by pointing to the Alborz North Bypass Expressway bridge, a project entirely conceived and executed by dedicated Iranian engineers, as a testament to national capability.
Unyielding Service and Public Support
The Minister extended her gratitude to the diligent personnel of the Traffic Police and the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization for their unwavering commitment. She stressed the paramount importance of continuous service provision on national transit routes and the steadfast security of the roads. Minister Sadegh also underscored the significance of national solidarity and unity among the public and transportation sector professionals.
“I came to this toll station to personally express my appreciation to our hardworking and dedicated colleagues in the Traffic Police, as well as in the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization, who provide direct services to the public,” she explained. The Minister acknowledged the often “unheralded” yet crucial role played by traffic police and road maintenance crews in serving the nation.
Resilience in Service Delivery
Minister Sadegh reiterated that despite attempts by adversaries to damage service-oriented infrastructure, the provision of services to the public will not be compromised. She pointed to the scene before her as evidence, where both traffic police and road maintenance personnel were actively serving the public with dedication and pride, a reflection of the people’s inherent support for their nation.
Appreciation for Public Cooperation During Norouz Holidays
Looking back at the recent Norouz holidays, the Minister commended the understanding and cooperative spirit of the Iranian people. “We have passed the Norouz holidays and it is appropriate to thank and appreciate the discerning people of our country who made proper plans for their return, especially to Tehran,” she said. She noted that the majority of individuals returning to the capital had done so with careful planning, and those needing to return for work were staggering their arrivals effectively.
Ensuring Secure Transit
“All entry and exit points and all roads across the country are secure. The public has completed or is in the process of completing their travels, and there are no issues in this regard,” Minister Sadegh stated definitively. She also addressed recent weather events, mentioning that while some regions experienced precipitation, effective crisis management by provincial teams, particularly in areas with heavier rainfall, along with the efforts of road maintenance crews, traffic police, the Red Crescent, and other emergency service providers, ensured that any resulting challenges were managed and resolved.
Currently, the Minister affirmed, there are no issues on any of the nation’s transit routes, and public movement on the roads is proceeding normally.
Enhanced Public Transportation Planning
Regarding passenger services, Minister Sadegh revealed that special and enhanced plans have been devised to facilitate access to tickets and the utilization of intercity public transportation. She assured that all terminals are well-prepared, and the presence of traffic police, despite facing considerable pressures, remains robust and impactful, with these forces safeguarding road security with integrity. The Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization is also actively present on routes, ready to address any issues. This proactive approach, she noted, continues and is pursued with even greater motivation compared to previous years.
“This heightened motivation is drawn from the people themselves,” Minister Sadegh concluded. “The people who, despite all the pressures on the country, demonstrate their vitality by actively participating in the daily lives of our cities and villages, showcasing their support and backing for the nation.”
