Rewritten Title: Iran Issues National Weather Advisory: Five-Day Forecast Predicts Temperature Fluctuations and Agricultural Alerts
Article:
Nationwide Weather Outlook
Iran’s Meteorological Organization has issued a detailed five-day weather forecast, predicting a period of atmospheric stability across most regions from Saturday to Tuesday. Sadegh Ziaeian, Head of the National Center for Weather Prediction and Crisis Management, provided the outlook, highlighting specific regional phenomena that require public and agricultural awareness.
Wind and Dust Warnings for Eastern Provinces
The predominant weather feature over the coming days will be strong winds, particularly along the eastern parts of the country. Wind speeds are expected to intensify from Saturday afternoon through Monday. This condition is likely to cause dust storms and a subsequent decrease in air quality in the eastern regions. Increased wind speeds are also forecast for the southern slopes of the Alborz mountain range and parts of the central provinces, raising the possibility of dust in some areas.
Temperature Shifts and Agricultural Precautions
While temperatures are projected to rise in most areas today and tomorrow, a relative drop is expected from Sunday, especially in the east. This cooling trend brings with it specific advisories for the agricultural sector.
In Razavi Khorasan, a noticeable temperature decrease from Saturday through Tuesday could lead to frost damage in orchards, particularly in cities like Quchan, Fariman, and Torbat-e Heydar. Farmers are urged to prioritize protective coverings for sensitive saplings and crops. Similar warnings have been issued for South Khorasan, where the cold could impact the harvest of forage corn and garden crops, necessitating careful management to prevent losses.
The potential for orchard frost also extends to elevated areas of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province and parts of Fars Province. Orchard owners in these regions are advised to implement protective measures for their products.
Flood Risk in Northern Regions
Although the peak of rainfall has passed in the coastal areas of the Caspian Sea, the high moisture levels maintain a serious risk of flooding on the slopes and highlands. Cities such as Siahkal, Rudsar, Lahijan, and Masal are specifically mentioned, with calls for residents and farmers to remain vigilant and undertake all necessary preventive actions.
Tehran Forecast
For the capital, Tehran, the skies are expected to be clear today. However, winds will pick up in the afternoon, with strong gusts and the potential for dust storms occurring during the night. A minimum temperature of 18°C and a maximum of 29°C are forecast.
