Tehran Municipality Announces Major Expansion of Family Support and Childbirth Incentive Loans
In a significant move to bolster family welfare and support population growth policies, Tehran Municipality has officially announced the terms for its enhanced childbirth incentive loan program, including a new 200 million Tomans (approximately $20,000) low-interest facility.
Doubled Financial Support for Families
Mr. Meisam Hosseingholizadeh, Director General of Welfare, Cooperation, and Social Services of Tehran Municipality, emphasized that increasing welfare benefits has always been the department’s top priority. A key initiative for the new year is a 100% increase in the loan amounts available for the first and second child.
Furthermore, he detailed that municipal employees can now benefit from a 200 million Toman low-interest loan upon the birth of their third child. This figure represents a doubling of the financial support compared to previous years. For a fourth child, an allocated credit of 200 million Tomans has also been established.
Swift Implementation in Line with National Directives
Hosseingholizadeh stated that all allocated credits will be deposited into the accounts of eligible recipients in the shortest possible time. This expedited process is part of the municipality’s effort to actively implement the directives of the Supreme Leader regarding the promotion of population growth and support for families.
The official cited the allocation of over 1,700 special loans since the introduction of the “Khorsandsaz” welfare package as a testament to the municipal management’s commitment. He highlighted that the “Law on Support for the Family and Youthful Population,” ratified by the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran in 2021 to encourage childbirth and family support, has been proactively and successfully adopted by Tehran Municipality, setting a leading example in its execution.
