Title: Government Outlines Timetable for New Phase of Essential Goods Subsidies
In a significant development regarding the nation’s social support system, senior officials have provided a clear update on the rollout of the next phase of the essential goods subsidy program.
Strategic Procurement to Ensure Price Stability
Ahmad Meydari, speaking to reporters after today’s cabinet meeting, detailed the government’s operational plan. He emphasized that a key priority is maintaining stable prices for the subsidized goods.
“To ensure that commodities reach consumers at fixed prices,” Meydari stated, “our strategy involves procuring the necessary goods within a two-month window prior to the distribution of the new subsidy entitlements.”
Finalizing the Framework Through Consultation
Highlighting the government’s methodical approach, the official noted that specialized discussions on the mechanism are already underway. These technical deliberations are being conducted in coordination with representatives from the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majlis).
Meydari confirmed that these collaborative meetings are progressing, adding, “We must reach a final agreement and will then publicly announce the conclusive results.” This indicates that citizens can expect an official declaration on the precise funding date once the remaining procedural details are settled between the executive and legislative branches.
