Title: Iran’s “Mother’s Hope Card” Initiative Approved to Support Families and Population Growth
In a significant move to support families and address national demographic objectives, the “Mother’s Hope Card” initiative has been formally ratified by the Iranian government.
Official Approval and Launch
The Secretary of the National Population Headquarters announced that the “Mother’s Hope Card” plan was presented to the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution on August 26, 2025. Following approval by its members, the plan was formally ratified on September 15, 2025, upon the signature of the President. This initiative is designed to provide support for pregnant mothers and improve the country’s demographic situation.
Key Benefits of the Initiative
Under this ratified plan, all mothers who give birth from the beginning of the Iranian calendar year 1405 (starting March 21, 2026) will be eligible to receive the “Mother’s Hope Card.” This card will be credited with 20 million Rials (equivalent to 2 million Tomans) each month for a duration of 24 months. The funds are designated specifically for covering essential needs such as food, clothing, and child necessities.
A Strategic Step for National Development
The “Mother’s Hope Card” scheme is a strategic component of the government’s broader policy to strengthen the family unit. Designed to alleviate financial pressure on mothers and encourage childbearing, it underscores the administration’s commitment to supporting households and reinforcing the nation’s demographic foundation. As a key supportive measure, the card is poised to cover a portion of the initial costs associated with raising a child, marking a proactive step in the country’s social development planning.
