Title: Parliamentarian Advocates for Pension Reform and Regional Development
In a session of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, a Member of Parliament emphasized the need for urgent government action on key issues, from fulfilling pension commitments to advancing regional infrastructure projects.
Focus on Retiree Rights
MP Mostafa Moini Arani, representing the people of Kashan, Aran, and Bidgol, used his platform to address the pending demands of retired educators. He called upon the Minister of Education to expedite the resolution of issues faced by 2023 retirees.
The parliamentarian highlighted that despite previous follow-ups, the legitimate demands of these retirees—including the correction of pension decrees, the full and correct implementation of the ranking law, the payment of arrears, and the provision of effective supplementary insurance—have not yet been adequately addressed. He stressed that issuing a swift directive to resolve these matters is a serious expectation of the retired teaching community.
Boosting National Tourism
Shifting focus to regional development, Moini Arani called on the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts to honor a commitment made during a visit last year. He formally invited the minister to attend the upcoming International Maranjab Desert Festival, scheduled for mid-October.
The MP described the Maranjab desert as a significant tourism asset requiring national support. He expressed hope that the minister’s presence at the festival would underscore the government’s commitment to fostering tourism development in this unique region.
Call for Equitable Infrastructure Funding
In a further address to the Minister of Roads and Urban Development and the Plan and Budget Organization, the representative issued a warning concerning budget allocations for the next fiscal year. He urged serious attention to several critical transportation projects in the Aran and Bidgol region.
The outlined projects, which include completing the second lane of the old Kashan-Qom road and constructing new bypasses and connectors, are vital for reducing traffic, improving road safety, and stimulating regional economic growth. Moini Arani concluded by calling for equitable government attention to less privileged areas, asserting that smaller counties must not be marginalized in national budget planning and that the administration must fulfill its promises to complete unfinished projects.
