New Insurance Scheme Paves Way for Pensioner Employment and Driver Benefits
A newly proposed insurance plan for drivers, currently awaiting parliamentary approval, promises significant benefits for both professional drivers and pensioners seeking supplemental income, according to a senior official.
A Dual-Purpose Initiative
Ali Dehghan Kia, commenting on the drafted plan, stated that the initiative is designed to provide comprehensive insurance facilities for drivers across the nation. He further elaborated that, as announced by Mr. Javaheri, the Deputy for Legal and Parliamentary Affairs of the Social Security Organization, upon the plan’s ratification by the parliament, drivers will gain access to enhanced insurance benefits.
Crucially, the scheme also opens a new door for pensioners, granting them the opportunity to work in the transport sector without jeopardizing their retirement pensions.
A Tailored Opportunity for Pensioners
The Head of the Tehran Social Security Pensioners’ Association explained that the plan is specifically designed for retirees who, due to economic circumstances, work part-time for internet-based taxi services. With the implementation of this scheme, pensioners will be able to continue their economic activities and earn an income without any concerns about their pensions being suspended.
Addressing Misinformation and Legal Hurdles
Dehghan Kia also expressed concern over individuals who, through spreading rumors, aim to mislead public opinion. He emphasized that some are attempting to exploit the challenges faced by pensioners to create unrealistic anxieties, which must be addressed and corrected.
Furthermore, he highlighted a key legal challenge: under current regulations, any form of employment can potentially obstruct the receipt of a retirement pension. In some instances, due to inspections and account analysis, pensioners have faced related difficulties. He confirmed that both the parliament and the Social Security Organization are actively working to amend existing laws to resolve these issues promptly.
A Positive Shift on the Horizon
In his concluding remarks, Dehghan Kia affirmed that with the parliament’s approval of the drivers’ insurance plan, pensioners will be able to continue their work legally, free from concerns about a reduction or cessation of their pensions. The ratification of this plan is poised to create a positive transformation for this segment of society.
