Persepolis Striker Sardar Dursun Departs for Turkish Süper Lig
In a significant mid-season transfer move, Iranian football club Persepolis has seen its Turkish-origin striker, Sardar Dursun, depart to join Kocaelispor of the Turkish Süper Lig. The 33-year-old forward, who scored 5 goals in 14 appearances for the Tehran-based club, has signed a formal contract with his new team, marking a new chapter in his professional career.
Dursun, who has prior experience with clubs like Fenerbahçe, Darmstadt, and Alanyaspor, joined Persepolis last January. His consistent performance and goal-scoring ability quickly made him a notable figure in the team’s attacking lineup.
A Career of Experience and Skill
With an extensive background in European and Turkish football, Dursun brings valuable international experience and aerial prowess to Kocaelispor. His most prolific period was during his three-season spell with Germany’s Darmstadt, where he netted 59 goals in 107 matches, establishing himself as a reliable and clinical striker.
Kocaelispor, which has faced a challenging season, aims to strengthen its offensive line with Dursun’s addition as the club seeks improved results in upcoming competitions.
