Title: National Team Stars Rejoin Persepolis, Bolstering Squad for Upcoming Challenges
In a significant boost for one of Iran’s premier football clubs, Persepolis has welcomed back several key players from international duty. Their return marks a pivotal moment for the team’s preparations, strengthening the squad as it gears up for its next domestic and continental objectives.
A Squad Regaining Its Strength
Training sessions at Persepolis had been impacted by the high number of players serving with various Iranian national teams, leaving the coaching staff with limited resources. However, the team’s roster is now being steadily reinforced as players gradually return from their national commitments. This reintegration of talent has enriched the team’s practice sessions, providing coaches with a fuller squad for tactical preparations and team cohesion.
Key Players Return to the Fold
The reintegration process began earlier in the week. On Tuesday, Soheil Sahebi and Mohammad Hossein Sadeghi rejoined the “Reds” after their stint with the national U-23 team (Omid). Their return was followed on Wednesday by the arrival of several other crucial players, including Oston Arunov, Marko Bakic, and national team goalkeeper Mohammad Khodabandelou.
Demonstrating a strong commitment to the club, Khodabandelou reported for training at 5:00 PM at Shahid Kazemi Stadium. This was particularly notable as the main national team’s flight had only landed in Tehran around 2:30 PM that same afternoon. In a gesture acknowledging the demanding schedule of the national team players, the Persepolis coaching staff had officially excused them from the day’s training, making Khodabandelou’s voluntary participation a testament to his dedication.
Focused Training and Community Engagement
Wednesday’s session lasted for 90 minutes and encompassed a comprehensive regimen designed to sharpen skills and build fitness. The drills included warm-up exercises, passing sequences, positional play, transitions, crossing, and combined tactical work.
Beyond the pitch, the club also engaged in a meaningful community initiative. To mark White Cane Day, a day recognizing the achievements of blind and visually impaired individuals, the team hosted three of its blind fans at the training facility. Players warmly welcomed the guests, shared moments with them, and took a commemorative photograph, highlighting the club’s connection with its diverse and dedicated fanbase.
