Iran Issues Stern Warning Against Aggression, Proposes Peace Framework
Tehran, Iran – President Ebrahim Raisi of the Islamic Republic of Iran has issued a clear and unwavering message to regional and international actors, vowing a decisive response to any act of aggression. The President, in a high-level telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shahbaz Sharif, also highlighted Iran’s commitment to peace and its proposed framework for de-escalation.
Iran’s Commitment to Peace and Regional Stability
The discussion between President Raisi and Prime Minister Sharif centered on the ongoing regional developments and Pakistan’s earnest efforts to achieve a cessation of hostilities. President Raisi expressed his gratitude for the constructive role played by the Pakistani government, specifically acknowledging the Prime Minister and the Chief of Army Staff for their mediation in halting conflict.
“Iran’s acceptance of Pakistan’s proposal for a ceasefire, despite a history of violated commitments and disregard for international law by certain entities, demonstrates Iran’s responsible and authoritative approach,” President Raisi stated. He urged regional and global nations to seize this opportunity to pressure those engaging in aggression, preventing further strategic missteps.
President Raisi emphasized that Iran’s cooperative stance is contingent upon the genuine commitment of all belligerent parties to the principles of negotiation and adherence to their obligations.
Unyielding Response to Violations
Underscoring the gravity of the situation, President Raisi condemned several reported ceasefire violations, including recent attacks on the islands of Lavan and Siri. “The Islamic Republic of Iran will respond decisively to any encroachment,” he declared, leaving no room for ambiguity regarding Iran’s resolve to protect its sovereignty and interests.
Security of Vital Waterways
The President further articulated that insecurity in the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf is a direct consequence of military provocations by certain powers. He stressed that the security of this crucial maritime route is intrinsically linked to the complete cessation of these aggressive actions.
Iran’s Ten-Point Peace Proposal
President Raisi reiterated Iran’s comprehensive ten-point plan, presented as a foundational framework for achieving a durable peace and ending conflict. A pivotal condition within this proposal is the establishment of a ceasefire in Lebanon.
Pakistan’s Support and Regional Cooperation
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif conveyed the profound sorrow of the Pakistani government and its people regarding the recent tragic loss of lives in Iran, including revered leaders and citizens. He extended his appreciation to the Islamic Republic of Iran for accepting Pakistan’s mediation efforts towards a ceasefire agreement.
The Pakistani Prime Minister stressed the imperative for all parties to abide by any ceasefire. He specifically called for an immediate halt to attacks against Lebanon, deeming it essential within the broader understanding.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Sharif affirmed Islamabad’s readiness to engage with all regional nations to foster peace, stability, and security throughout the Persian Gulf and the wider region.
