Iran Launches Fourth Pre-Sale Phase of Azar Gold Coins at Fixed Rate
Tehran – The Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) has officially opened registration for the fourth phase of its government-backed gold coin pre-sale scheme, offering citizens a structured opportunity to purchase sovereign coins at a predetermined price.
Fixed Pricing and Offer Details
The Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran has set the pre-sale price for the upcoming phase. A single Azar Bahar Azadi (Emami) gold coin, minted in 2007, is priced at 83,224,493 Iranian tomans. A half-coin is available for 44,119,543 tomans, and a quarter-coin for 25,775,862 tomans. This pre-sale is part of a continued government initiative to provide a regulated alternative to the open market.
Streamlined Registration and Payment Process
Prospective buyers must deposit 100% of the order value, plus a 0.1% processing fee, into their IME account between Thursday, September 4, and Monday, September 8, 2025. Order registration is scheduled for Wednesday, September 9, with specific time slots allocated for different coin types to ensure system stability.
The pre-sale is open to all Iranian citizens aged 18 and above. Purchase limits are set at a maximum of three full coins, five half-coins, and seven quarter-coins per individual. The allocation of coins will be based on the volume of orders received.
Physical Delivery and Logistics
The National Bank of Iran has been designated as the official agent for physical settlement. Successful applicants can collect their coins from selected bank branches starting on the delivery date of December 21, 2025. A standard delivery fee of 30,000 tomans per coin applies for collections made within the first seven business days after the delivery date. A daily storage fee will be incurred for later collections.
This initiative, directed by the Central Bank and facilitated through the IME’s secure trading platform, underscores the government’s commitment to providing economic stability and structured financial instruments to its citizens. The scheme allows for cancellation requests until late September, with refunds processed within seven business days.
