Iran Unveils New Leader: Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei Assumes Helm as Provisional Council Concludes Mandate
Tehran, Iran – The provisional leadership council, established to ensure continuity after the tragic loss of the nation’s previous leader, has officially concluded its mandate, following the selection of Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei as the third Leader of the Islamic Revolution. This announcement was made by Tahan Nazif, Spokesperson for Iran’s Guardian Council, who extended congratulations on the pivotal appointment.
Seamless Transition and Constitutional Strength
Nazif underscored the robustness of Iran’s political system, asserting that despite the profound grief over the martyred leader, the Islamic Republic’s constitutional framework ensured a smooth and uninterrupted transition. “The structure of the Islamic Republic, thanks to our Constitution, has made the necessary provisions for various circumstances and faces no impasse,” Nazif stated, emphasizing that the system’s operation is not dependent on individuals but rather its inherent design.
He elaborated that legal processes were swiftly implemented. Following the establishment of a provisional leadership council under Article 111 of the Constitution to manage affairs, the Assembly of Experts diligently carried out its constitutional duty to determine and select the new Leader. This meticulous process, involving extensive deliberations, culminated in the formal introduction of Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei.
Continuity of Vision and Path
With the selection of Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, the path of the Islamic Revolution is set to continue, according to Nazif. He affirmed that the new Leader would uphold the foundational principles and revolutionary ideals championed by Imam Khomeini and subsequently by the esteemed Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. This continuity ensures the steadfast progression of the revolution’s objectives.
National Unity and International Message
Nazif praised the exemplary unity and steadfast resolve displayed across Iranian society. He noted that officials, political groups, factions, and the entire populace demonstrated immediate obedience and loyalty, reinforcing national cohesion and cooperation under the new leadership. “This message of selection, cohesion, unity, and cooperation has been received by the enemy, and its practical effects were evident in the immediate hours,” Nazif stated, emphasizing the strength derived from national solidarity.
Aspiration for Future Progress
Expressing confidence in the nation’s future, Nazif conveyed that Iran, under the leadership of Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, is poised to achieve “summits of power and glory.” He lauded the “time-knowing and insightful” Iranian people for their continuous presence in critical moments, underscoring their role in once again forging a “brilliant point in history” through their collective support and wisdom, ensuring the continued progress of the country and the Islamic Republic.
