Qom Leader: The Path to Jerusalem’s Freedom Intensifies
Hojjat-ol-Islam wal-Muslimin Seyed Mohammad Saeedi, the esteemed Friday Prayer Leader of Qom, delivered a politically charged sermon at the city’s Quds Musalla, articulating a firm vision for the liberation of Holy Jerusalem. Speaking during Quds Day commemorations, observed amidst national mourning for the recently martyred leader, Saeedi declared the ongoing regional struggles as integral to a greater battle for Al-Quds’ freedom.
The Vision for Jerusalem’s Freedom
Saeedi emphasized that the late leader consistently prioritized the issue of Al-Quds, outlining three fundamental principles: affirming the illegitimacy of the Zionist regime, offering unconditional support to the Palestinian nation, and fostering Islamic unity around Al-Quds, transcending ethnic and sectarian differences. He asserted that, by God’s grace and power, Holy Jerusalem will ultimately be liberated.
Unyielding Resolve and Support for Palestine
Underscoring that the recent martyrdom has only deepened Iran’s resolve, Saeedi stated, “We must make the world understand that the martyrdom of our leader has made us even more determined for the liberation of Al-Quds.” He conveyed a message of unwavering support to the resilient people of Palestine, assuring them of Iran’s solidarity “in the toughest conditions of war.” To adversaries, he declared that the path to Al-Quds is far from closed; rather, “this nation will train thousands of mujahideen to continue the path of Al-Quds’ liberation.”
Pledging on the blood of the martyrs, Saeedi affirmed the commitment to intensify resistance against what he termed the “Zionist occupiers,” asserting, “We will continue their path in defending Holy Jerusalem until our last breath.”
Strategic Resilience and Regional Influence
Reflecting on what he referred to as the “third imposed war by the enemy,” Saeedi highlighted several key takeaways reinforcing the strength of the Islamic Republic:
- Systemic Durability: He asserted that Iran’s system possesses such inherent strength that it does not collapse with the loss of a key figure. Praising the Iranian people for standing “like a mountain,” he noted the contrast to historical precedents where societies faltered after losing leadership.
- Leadership Succession: According to Saeedi, the brave, patient, and loyal representatives in the Assembly of Experts, despite enemy threats, selected a powerful and steadfast leader, identified as Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei.
- Iran’s Strategic Posture: Saeedi pointed to Iran’s robust resistance against “the super-criminal America and the ominous Zionist regime,” citing instances where Iran “destroyed their positions” and effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz. He cautioned regional countries against aligning with the US against Iran, suggesting such a course would lead to significantly worse outcomes for them. He further declared the “superpower status of America is hollow,” positioning the Islamic Republic of Iran as “the current superpower of the world.”
- Unwavering Commitment to the Struggle: Saeedi reiterated Iran’s unequivocal commitment to continuing its struggle and defense until the “bones of global arrogance are crushed.”
The People’s Enduring Role
Saeedi emphasized the profound importance of the Iranian people, describing them as a “great divine blessing,” characterized by their revolutionary spirit, insight, and steadfast faith. He noted that the Supreme Leader’s initial message underscored that Iran’s victories are realized through the active presence of its people, whose “Ammar-like presence” is crucial for steadfastness.
Concluding, Saeedi affirmed the people’s unwavering allegiance to the new leader, stating, “Our people are Muslim and, while pledging allegiance to the new leader of the Revolution, will support this leader to the last drop of their blood.” He urged officials to recognize and cherish this steadfast commitment, sparing no effort in serving the nation.
