Title: Meteorological Authority Issues National Weather Outlook and Precipitation Forecast
Tehran – The National Forecasting Center of the Meteorological Organization has released its latest comprehensive assessment of the country’s weather patterns, providing critical data for public awareness and strategic planning.
A Nationwide Overview
According to the report, weather conditions and precipitation forecasts for the current month vary significantly across different regions of the country. The analysis, based on advanced numerical weather prediction models, is particularly vital for travel planning and agricultural scheduling. The current autumn period is typically characterized by rainfall, though this year’s precipitation levels have shown notable variation.
A Significant Precipitation Deficit
Mr. Sadeq Ziaeian, Head of the National Forecasting Center, highlighted a concerning trend in the nation’s water year, which began on Aban 7th. He stated, “Since the start of the current water year, the amount of precipitation across the country has decreased by 85.7 percent compared to the long-term average.”
This deficit is even more pronounced in the capital. “In Tehran,” Mr. Ziaeian continued, “the recorded precipitation in this period has been 1 millimeter, which is 24 millimeters less than the long-term average. In other words, rainfall in Tehran Province has decreased by 95.8 percent.”
The Forecast for the Capital
Addressing public inquiries about imminent rainfall, the official provided a clear short-term outlook for Tehran. “We do not expect any precipitation in Tehran for the next 10 days,” he confirmed.
While emphasizing that long-range forecasts are subject to refinement, Mr. Ziaeian added, “It is premature to speak with absolute certainty, but the probability of having rainfall in Tehran by the end of the current month is low.”
A Shift Expected Next Month
The forecast, however, points to a positive shift in the coming weeks. Projections indicate that from the early days of the next month, the probability of substantial rainfall in the Tehran region is expected to increase significantly. This anticipated change will be a key focus of the Meteorological Organization’s subsequent updates.
