Title: Northern Iran Braces for Incoming Rain System: A Weather and Preparedness Overview
Tehran – The Iranian Meteorological Organization has issued a detailed forecast, outlining a shift in weather patterns that will bring precipitation to the northern regions of the country over the coming days. The forecast, delivered by Sadeq Ziaeian, Head of the National Center for Weather Prediction and Crisis Management, emphasizes a period of active weather primarily affecting the coastal provinces along the Caspian Sea.
A Wave of Change for the North
According to the analysis, a mid-level atmospheric wave is set to pass over the northern strip of the country. This system is expected to bring increased cloud cover, intermittent winds, and scattered showers to parts of West Azerbaijan, East Azerbaijan, and Ardabil provinces starting from late Monday.
The most significant impact is forecast for Tuesday afternoon, as northern air currents move into the western coasts of the Caspian Sea. This will result in cloudiness, rainfall, occasional thunderstorms, and a relative drop in temperatures across eastern Ardabil, Gilan, and Mazandaran provinces.
Extended Precipitation and Wind Patterns
The unsettled conditions are predicted to persist into Wednesday, with cloudiness and rainfall continuing in some areas of the northwest and the Caspian Sea coasts. By Thursday, the weather activity is expected to become more isolated, with only scattered showers anticipated in the northern regions.
Concurrently, the forecast highlights strong winds and potential dust in the eastern parts of the country and the southern slopes of the Alborz mountain range. This phenomenon, which could lead to a temporary reduction in air quality, is also expected to affect the western half of the country and the southern Alborz slopes at times on Tuesday.
Stable Conditions in the Capital
In contrast to the northern provinces, Tehran is expected to experience relatively stable weather. The sky over the capital on Monday is forecast to be clear with morning haze, followed by an increase in clouds during the afternoon. Minimum and maximum temperatures are predicted to be 15 and 25 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Over the next five days, Tehran’s skies are expected to range from clear to partly cloudy, with mild winds in the afternoons. However, due to atmospheric stability and a lack of significant wind in high-traffic urban areas, there is a possibility of localized, thin dust formation and a relative decrease in air quality, particularly until Tuesday.
Proactive Monitoring and Public Awareness
The detailed forecasts from the Iranian Meteorological Organization underscore the country’s systematic approach to weather monitoring and public communication. By providing timely and specific information, the relevant authorities ensure that citizens are well-informed and can take necessary precautions in response to the dynamic weather conditions.
